What Makes Mathcruise Online Abacus Classes Unique?

What Makes Mathcruise Online Abacus Classes Unique?

Today online Abacus classes for kids and online Vedic Maths classes are the two most trending keywords in the field of Mathematics. Every parent is looking for new and innovative ways to push their children ahead in the fierce competitive world, and when it comes to Mathematics both the Abacus online classes and Vedic Maths classes are life savers. As a chief trainer of Mathcruise academy, in this article I will deep dive into an interesting world of Abacus for kids and throw light on how Mathcruise helps parents shape the future of their kids positively.

Mathcruise mission

We founded Mathcruise in 2015 with a single mission to remove fear of Maths from the minds of young kids, using amazing ancient teaching methodologies like Abacus classes for kids. It is centuries old and a proven technique which helps the kids in following amazing ways:

  • Perform arithmetic calculations mentally without calculator
  • Brain development
  • Boost focus and concentration

What makes Mathcruise online Abacus classes really unique?

We are glad that you are having this question and it gives us an opportunity to proudly talk about what unique benefits Mathcruise team bring to the table with respect to Abacus training. Like any other field, today there are a plethora of coaching academies and schools teaching Abacus courses. But here is a combination of the greatest benefits that we feel very rare schools are offering:

  1. Money Back Guarantee

Money Back Guarantee

We share our level wise curriculum of Abacus course very clearly on our web portal here, and if the child is not able to develop a good command on those topics as per specified timelines, we refund the money. The only pre-conditions applicable here is that the child should have been attending the classes regularly with discipline, and also doing his homework on a daily basis. Now this is not too much to ask, or is it? And if you really think about it, we are able to offer this kind of guarantee only because we have high confidence in our teaching style and our ability to engage positively with the kids.

  1. Guaranteed small batch of students

Guaranteed small batch of students

We have multiple batches running at all times, but we never admit more than 5-6 students in a single batch. This ensures individual attention to every child during the class. We always encourage children to participate in group activities as well as the teacher interacting with the child individually also for at least 10 minutes in every single class. As a result, the student is not shy to ask his doubts since he opens up with the teacher during individual interaction and becomes confident gradually. I am sure we would admit that most students feel shy to ask doubts when the teacher is interacting with all the students jointly and this is where they typically start to get left behind.

  1. Assessment based learningGenuine advice and counselling to parents to choose right course for the child

Well, we have seen this ourselves that most coaching academies would straight away admit your child and kick off the admission process as soon as you reach out to them with an enquiry. Their goal is always to convert enquiry into admission at the earliest.. But at Mathcruise, we never rush. Whenever a parent reaches out to us, we try and understand a few key aspects like as follows:

  • Why does the parent (or student) want to learn Abacus?
  • Do they understand what Abacus is and what are the real advantages of Abacus? Or they just heard the buzzword and want to enroll
  • Assessment based learning – We always set up  a 30-minute interaction with the child (pre-enrolment) which is free of cost. This is where I as a chief trainer personally interact with the child to gauge his strengths and growth areas. If I feel that a child is lacking in basic foundational Math concepts, then I would rather suggest the parents to focus on school Maths instead of Abacus since Abacus classes are optional in nature and can be enrolled after a few months also. But building a strong foundation in school is of utmost importance since the Abacus course will not cover topics like algebra or calculus. Similarly if I feel that the child already has a very good command on arithmetic calculation, I would not suggest Abacus for that child. Rather in such cases Vedic Maths may be a much better course to prepare him for higher level competitive exams.
  1. Pull model instead of push from child perspective

What we mean by pull model instead of push is that we never push the concepts to children as one-way roads. Instead we collaboratively work with the student to ensure he develops a good bond with the teacher and interacts openly and confidently. It may take some time since initially many students feel shy, but this is very important to ensure a successful bonding. Once the child opens up, he will enjoy participating in the class and will proactively ask the questions whenever some topic is not clear. We call this teaching methodology as a pull mode, and it has worked wonders for us as well as students over the past decade.

  1. Sharing honest and proactive feedback regularly with parents, without being too late

Another core principal we strictly follow at all times is to share honest feedback with parents, and at the right time. We deeply value every penny and every minute spent by kids and parents, and hence anytime we feel that the child is not taking the classes seriously (as an example not doing his homework regularly) we reach out to parents to ensure timely corrective action is taken. At many schools you will observe that the teachers are not sharing any feedback and the kids have not learned much despite doing Abacus for a long time like two years. But at Mathcruise we ensure that a child makes good progress as per our defined curriculum and completes every level in a time bound manner.

We can guarantee that Mathcruise students who are enrolled into our Abacus online classes learn in 6 months what most other academies easily take more than 1 year. We are speaking from our experience and strongly encourage you to establish this yourself as well, by doing interviews of parents and students who have been learning Abacus from different schools, so that you are confident about this claim that makes us proud. We may not be the best Abacus school in the world, but we are surely among one of the best schools and this is our greatest achievement despite having a lesser number of students.

  1. Our copyrighted books and Structured Curriculum

Our copyrighted books and Structured Curriculum

  • We initially spent two dedicated years to design and patent our own books under registered Trademarks (TM) classes 16, 35 and 41 with the government of India.
  • Mathcruise books have custom content which is structured in a clear and effective way to cater to young children. We have separate classwork and homework books, each divided into 12 weeks each because every Abacus level in our curriculum is designed for 3 months.
  • Structuring our books on a weekly basis makes it super easy for parents to independently gauge the progress of a child any time without even reaching out to our trainers. For example, if your child is into week#7 of Abacus level 3, but he has completed only until week$4 or week#5 of classwork or homework book, then he is clearly running behind. In such cases, you can directly discuss the reasons with the trainer. Although in most cases the trainer would have proactively reached out to parents to ensure this situation does not happen.

I am confused which is a better course – Online Abacus Course or Online Vedic Maths course?

This is another great question that many parents have. As I already mentioned above, at Mathcruise we always follow the assessment based learning model. Which means that before enrolling a child into Abacus course, we set up an interaction with him to gauge his current understanding level, strengths and growth areas. This would vary for every child simply because every child is unique and has different learning needs.

In summary,

  • we recommend Abacus classes when the child is doing fairly okay in School Maths but needs to gain speed and accuracy in arithmetic calculations, or have some kind of fear of Maths. Additionally the child must be in the age group of 5-15 years, not more than that because beyond the age of 15 a child will not be interested to learn basic arithmetic questions using Abacus.
  • We recommend Vedic Maths in cases where the child is over 11 years of age, and is looking to understand shortcuts to solve different types of problems like arithmetic, square roots, special number multiplication and division etc. Vedic Maths is about gaining speed and promoting Mental Maths, and is especially useful to save precious time in competitive exams at all levels be it school, college or even at professional levels.

We have published a separate page on our web portal here titled ‘Still Confused’, which talks about these scenarios to guide parents when to choose which course. Please read through that for more insights and you are welcome to reach out to us anytime for further discussion.

Does the Mathcruise team hold any professional certifications for Abacus classes and Vedic Maths?

Professional certifications for Abacus classes and Vedic Maths

At Mathcruise we specialise in both Abacus training as well as Vedic Maths classes for beginners and Vedic Maths advanced course. As a chief trainer I hold advanced Vedic Maths certification from www.vedicvmaths.org under the guidance of Prof Ken Williams and James Glover way back in 2015 and we proudly display this certification on our webportal About Us page for prospective students to know. It was the starting point of my professional teaching career and I am blessed to have got an opportunity to learn from the best school in the world when it comes to Vedic Maths.

For online Abacus course, there is actually no centralized academy worldwide which provides globally valid Abacus certifications. As a trainer I started my journey when I enrolled my son into other Abacus schools 12 years ago, and then the world of Abacus got me fascinated to an extent that I myself started to learn Abacus. I have done certification from many schools but in the end, I would say that instead of looking at certification you should look at the results that you can yourself measure. We guarantee the results based on our Abacus curriculum as mentioned earlier, and we take pride in our Google reviews as shared by parents and students which is our best testimony.

What is the best age to enrol kids into Abacus classes?

My recommendation to all parents whose kids are in the age group of 5-15 years is to explore Abacus and its benefits, get counseling from a professional Abacus trainer and enroll into Online Abacus classes in Delhi sooner rather than later. It is secondary whether you enroll at Mathcruise or any other Abacus school, what is more important is that you take the step in the right direction without delay.

Beyond the age of 15 it gets very difficult to activate the right brain as proven by modern science also, and kids are also not interested in learning a new technique like Abacus for basic and simple arithmetic questions starting from single digit. As we close, we would like to wish happy Abacus learning to all proud parents and would love to partner with you in this wonderful endeavour.
